Aroma is skunky like any lager should be. This beer lacks alot of the qualities that I really love in the pilseners from the czech republic. It doesn’t retain much head, lacks the crisp hop profile and a little of the subtleties that make the style so delicious. However, like most pilseners, this beer is very drinkable and very refreshing. Not a bad buy. Skinnyviking (4170), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 1, 2007 06-Jun-07 (12 oz bottle: Purchased 01-Jun-07 at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) In a recent pilsener tasting I ran at my BevMo, KöPi was the crowd favorite, and I had no complaints either (though it wasn’t my favorite). Malty, grainy, lightly bready nose with a gentle hop fragrance. That breadiness is limited only to a background aroma and does not present itself in the flavor. Rather, this medium-bodied pilsener is decidedly malty with a hint of grain and a pleasant, mildly bitter Noble hop flavor and no bitter aftertaste. The delicate, but crisp hop character is what really makes this pilsener enjoyable to drink and refreshing on the palate. Medium-high carbonation has a soft mouthfeel. An inch of foamy, white head caps the golden body, but points off for being a bit hazy, even after the beer warms up a bit. I imagine this must be pretty nice on tap. obguthr (1053), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
