pours a very boring clear yellow into a glass, slight head, nothing to write home about. Smells like any other macro-lager out there, some alcohol, some grains, something interesting would be nice. Taste is that usual breadiness you get from the non-alcs, not the worst I’ve had but definitely not the best I’ve had.

It’s a great beer if you want to drink all night long. Very quaffable. But I prefer beers with a more bitter and hearty taste, so this isn’t my favourite. Very nice aroma, kind of sweet, isn’t it?

Very typical Czech beer with a smooth sweetish taste. Ideal for long beer drinking afternoons/evenings.

Bottle. Pours pale golden with a big white head that disappears quickly. The aroma is pretty slight -- some maltiness and a bit of grass. There’s not much to the flavor, either: some malty sweetness, a slight sourness, almost no hop bitterness. The palate is sort of creamy. Very refreshing, but I like a bit more beer in my beer. It’s my wife’s favorite Czech beer, but I think it’s mostly the name. The whole thing is quite a mouthful: Velkopopovicky Kozel.
