Smells like any other macro-lager out there, some alcohol, some grains, something interesting would be nice. Taste is that usual breadiness you get from the non-alcs, not the worst I’ve had but definitely not the best I’ve had.

Very quaffable. But I prefer beers with a more bitter and hearty taste, so this isn’t my favourite. Very nice aroma, kind of sweet, isn’t it? tomkrat2008 (23), Bratislava, Slovak Republic
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 14, 2009 Very typical Czech beer with a smooth sweetish taste. Ideal for long beer drinking afternoons/evenings. rlaw (51), USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours pale golden with a big white head that disappears quickly. The aroma is pretty slight -- some maltiness and a bit of grass. There’s not much to the flavor, either: some malty sweetness, a slight sourness, almost no hop bitterness. The palate is sort of creamy. Very refreshing, but I like a bit more beer in my beer. It’s my wife’s favorite Czech beer, but I think it’s mostly the name. The whole thing is quite a mouthful: Velkopopovicky Kozel.
