Hoppy, sweet, sour, fair. Why does this brewery bother? Flat, watery. Astringent, artificial, just terrible.

Appearance: Pours a clear, orange-amber body with a very thin, whitish head. Smell: Here we go again. Displeasingly tart, vaguely fruity nose mixed in with some lightly toasted malts. Taste: Ugh. Tart, infection-laden component nearly obscures the underlying malts and spicy hops. The tartness hangs on with an iron grip until the merciful finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Pete’s Place, along with Siletz and Northwoods is quickly becoming ingrained in my mind as brewery with infection issues. What a shame.

My first ever Octoberfest (although this is a Vienna as opposed to a Marzen). Aroma is mainly malt and yeast. Flavor is malt, with some hints of caramel and roasted nuts. Nothing too impressive.

short 12oz twist-off bottle. Pours deep amber color, thin white head. Aroma has a fruity ale-like ester. Aroma of malted grains, some grassy earthiness. An odd nutty flavor mixed with rich malt. Flavor is like peanut butter filled pretzels. Dry finish with lots of toasted malt characteristics. medium bodied. Not an Oktoberfest.

(Bottle, courtesy of Swalden_28) Pours a cloudy golden orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma of cereal, grass, pretzels, and mildew. Flavor of grass, earth, light citric sourness, caramel, and nuts with a moderately dry finish.
