Commercial Description:
A special Christmas brew that digs deep into the long experience of Kronenbourg's Master Brewers. The Bière de Noël 1664 is a beer with a thick, creamy head, an amber body and a rich caramel and hop-flower flavour. The perfect beer for drinking with a meal, even with seafood.

Kronenbourg Bière de Noël, 5.5% 0.25l bottle courtesy of and shared with ozujsko (thanks!)
Didn’t even know they bottled this. Poured a brown (quite dark amber) colour with a medium sized white head. Lively carbonation, fizzy. A pleasant nose - malt, caramel, some fresh herbal hop. The taste is quite nice for Kronenbourg. Pleasant, bready, notes of a herbal, a touch acidic and dusty hopiness, notes of caramel, slighty woody, maybe even sweaty. Chalky hoppy bitter aftertaste. A nice little lager, more complex than I expected.

Malty, slight hoppy and spicy with strong alcoholic notes but in a good way. Stronger and surprisingly good Kronenbourg beer.

330 ml bottle. Clear dark golden body with a decent off-white head. Aroma has some caramel malt and a hint of bitter hops. Flavor is a bit sweet caramel malt, some bitterness and a relatively short aftertaste. Not very unlikely a typical Norwegian Christmas beer sold in regular shops = a Vienna style beer. Honestly I don’t compare this to a bock at all.

A very nice dark bock. Found this in early jan so it’s just in the nick of time.

Lacks the subtlety of a number of other christmas beers. Brewed because they had to I guess. Reasonable colour and presentation but a borig beer overall.

I had this beer many years ago at one time when I was only giving ratings to the beers but was too lazy and stupid to write down my thoughts. I will update this as soon as I get my hands on this beer again.

Blond color. Ordinary beer, a bit malty, round, but also corn. Strong bitterness.
