Bottle, February 2007. Darkish, old gold colour. Pours with a thick rocky head, soon diminishing to leave just a collar. Sweetish, fruity almost estery aroma with some creamy vanilla. Initially sweet malt in the flavour with some late hop bitterness, although rather empty middle. Some citrus with a decent bite on the finish. Surprisingly bitter aftertaste. Not horrible. Better than expected.

Bottle 500ml.
Clear light to medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, cabbage water, cardboard. Flavor is moderate to heavy caramel sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, and a medium dry finish. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090101]

I tried locating this while in France but that was fruitless. This stuff is way boring. Like h20 then under that hot booze and overly sweet malt and grain..a big pile of confustion. But its not that bad

Bottle, 500ml. Pours clear bronze-golden, with no head or lacing. Quite hoppy on the nose, with mild notes of toffee and caramel surfacing on the palate. Quite weak mouthfeel, with low carbonation.

Bottle, from Sainsbury’s. pours a amber colour with an average sized white head. The aromas are of malts, with a hint of honey and spices. The taste is a sweet citrus with light hops. The finish is a bitter with a slight with citrus aftertaste.

Bottle blue, 330 ml
Appearance: Looks very clear, amber, very well filtered, in body carbonation is medium but bubbles are moveing through the body quite lively, head is quite thick - frothy and in a bit off - white colour nicely matching to the deep, dark golden body, leaves some hints of lacing.
Aroma: Aromatic hops hidden under yeasts and malty sweetness with some mild alcoholic aroma.
Flavour: Yeasts, frony is sweet, inviting, than a nice, positive surprise of some bitterness on your palate, some notes of vegetables and after the alcohol warms your palate you can feel yeast, malty sweetness, a bit syroupy, but still dry. Very interesting, well balanced French Strong Lager reminding of a English Premium Bitter, very drinkable as for 6% vol it is well hidden.
Palate: Texture is smooth with some bitterness, yeasts giving smoothness and hops giving bitterness. Finish is bitter and a bit creamy, smooth and short to medium.
