Bottle blue, 330 ml
Appearance: Looks very clear, amber, very well filtered, in body carbonation is medium but bubbles are moveing through the body quite lively, head is quite thick - frothy and in a bit off - white colour nicely matching to the deep, dark golden body, leaves some hints of lacing.
Aroma: Aromatic hops hidden under yeasts and malty sweetness with some mild alcoholic aroma.
Flavour: Yeasts, frony is sweet, inviting, than a nice, positive surprise of some bitterness on your palate, some notes of vegetables and after the alcohol warms your palate you can feel yeast, malty sweetness, a bit syroupy, but still dry. Very interesting, well balanced French Strong Lager reminding of a English Premium Bitter, very drinkable as for 6% vol it is well hidden.
Palate: Texture is smooth with some bitterness, yeasts giving smoothness and hops giving bitterness. Finish is bitter and a bit creamy, smooth and short to medium.
azlondon (528), Greater London, England Jun 26, 2008 Updated: Jun 27, 2008Appearance: Amber, little head.
