Kronenbourg 1664

On tap at Boise Front Door. Pours out a clear yellow topped with a white head. Aroma of light hops. Not much going on.

Not good. The 1664 thing neat, but drinking the beer isnt. Hoppy yes, but also bitter. Yuck.

25cl draft at the Champs Elysees.In Paris and thirsty any beer is god beer.

Very light yellow with a thin white head. Weak perfume-y hop aroma. Tastes as thin as it looks with a mega-astringent and dry finish. Yuck.

Fond memories of this beer from my youth on a trip to Paris. So lets see how it rates. Golden in color with a touch of orange. Thin head. A bit of a malty grassy aroma with a bit of sour milk thrown in. Mildly carbonated and light on the palate. Light on the bitterness with slight grassyness. It could be a bit better.

Very pale golden, foamy white head. Nose has some malts and little grassy hops. Quite neutral. Flavor lightly malty, some mild citric/fruity notes, very little bitterness. Strangely shows a little warming alcohol even. Light bodied with strong but quite soft carbonation. Light and neutral, somewhat refreshing.

En cannette. Corps de couleur jaune doré, elle possède un mince col qui disparaît rapidement après quelques instants. Nez un peu amer mais doux tout à la fois. Arômes de malt, de blé et de légères touches de caramel et de métal. Le goût est assez quelconque, quoi que beaucoup mieux que bien des lagers américaines.

Two 300ml bottles at Cafe Rouge in Oxford. Clear golden body with one-finger, white head. Aroma of hard water and light hops. Sweet corn-like flavour with noticeable hops. Thin-medium texture. Standard, food-friendly lager (16.03.2008).
