SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Dec 22, 2007 Draught in Geneva airport. Clear gold with a medium, creamy white head that settles fast. Aroma is a little sour and grainy with some hops, but is very faint in intensity. Flavor is dry and bitter with some hop flavor; a little bready with some grain in the finish; not too clean. Light palate with high carbonation and lingering bitterness. Overall, its got more hops than I would have expected in a pale lager, and that makes it more interesting than most, but they don’t really make it taste that much better. quizmaster (13), USA Dec 19, 2007 one of the better beers of the commercial foreign imports. Very drinkable but overall quite plain nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Dec 11, 2007 35.5 cl. Skunk and rubber aroma. Flavor of rubber, grain and grassy hops on the finish. Palate is light and fairly smooth BlackOut (43), East End, England Dec 8, 2007 Ok beer, another typical european lager, every pub has it, in the same group with stella, grolsch, heineken, holsten etc. Nothing special but ok for your thirst oteyj (713), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Dec 6, 2007 Pretty typical for a pale lager- some grassy notes in the aroma but relatively lacking. Flavour was much the same- a little malt in there but not much. Thin body and mouthfeel with lots of carbonation. Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Nov 28, 2007 The coolest pour of any pale lager I have seen. A small tornado of carbonation was visible. Aroma is of Saaz hops. Flavor is the same but there isn’t much of it. Some caramel is deep down in there. But all of the flavors are deep down. I had higher hopes for this famous beer. Hammster (187), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Nov 26, 2007 Bottle. Clear gold with a cloudy and large white head. Enjoyable grassy aroma was pretty strong for a pale lager. Pretty sweet and malty flavor. Medium bodied. Finish is slightly filling and malty. Decent considering it comes from France. presidentchaos (21), Worthing, England Nov 25, 2007 Main stay of British pub drinking along with Stella. Very light taste, pleasant and refreshing. Good colour, odour changes with temperature so enjoy chilled.
