Attrape nigo! Sten (288), Westerlo, Belgium Feb 2, 2006 A golden coloured beer with a fast diminishing head. An hoppy aroma (but not good). The taste is a bit malty and sweet. (Bottle 25cl Belgian version brewed by Alken-Maas) GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA Jan 31, 2006 Updated: Mar 10, 2007Pale, skunky, and boring. Slightly better than the mass produced American lagers. I was in an old bar on Central in AZ called The George and Dragon. This elderly Scottsman sitting next to me suggested I try the Kronenbourg in a bomber, he called it the kronic. I asked the old chap why the name sake. He went on to tell me they call it Kronic because if you drink too much of it, you’ll feel kronic the next morning. No shit ? BUAGH!! Delirium (495), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jan 28, 2006 Updated: Feb 20, 2006Draught. Pours golden with a thin head that quickly disappears. Weak aroma of slightly sweet pale malt and some citrus. Flavor is slightly sweet and malty with a small hint of hops in the finish. Thin and not very complex, but at least it’s clean and refreshing, and nothing stands out as objectionable. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA Jan 25, 2006 Kroenbourg 1664 pours to a beautiful, bright, deep golden color, with a bubbly white head that fades, and a very lively carbonation. The nose on this beer is slightly herbal and grassy with some crisp, slightly sweet pale malt flavors coming through. The palate is firm, with some nice touches of pale malt flavors on the tongue. The body is round and clean on this beer making it very drinkable. Kroenbourg 1664 finishes slightly sweet malty up front, then ends a touch grassy with a sting of carbonation. This beer comes in at about 5.2% abv, so it is the type of beer you could have a few of with your meal.
pineypower (1075), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Jan 23, 2006 Had in French St Martin, the guy who served it to me was all proud that I was drinking a French beer. Which proves my point, they are arrogant about nothing. This beer pours out a yellow color with really no head. Sweet malty aroma with maybe a bit of hop. Not bad to drink in the warm weather and when the beer is cold. Flavor is a bit watery, but it isn’t terrible, but not like the guy brought it up to be. auderale (572), Fairchild AFB, Washington, USA Jan 16, 2006 25cl bottle. Golden color, not much of a head at all. The french definitely make better wine. Not bad though gdub171 (30), USA Jan 4, 2006 French : stick to wine, your good at that, leave the beer to people who know what they are doing!
Good call.
Still better than US domestic tho... at least on tap in Geneve or Nice.
