Bottle. Poured pale yellow with a thick foamy white head. Strong maizey, sheepy, lagery aroma, then a huge waft of skunk. Weak watery flavour, very little body, very little flavour. Metallic finish. Maybe, if they used whole hops instead of extract, and left out the maze, they’d have a halfway decent lager

Mine was 5.2% Very pale and drinkable, not impressive. Probably the most famous French lager abroad.

Poured into a pint glass. Crystal clear gold color with an off white head. The foam is 2 fingers high and leaves a surprisingly thick coat of lacing on the glass. Great retention too, none of the fizziness of the typical crappy pale lager. Aroma is faint, non skunk but not much of anything at all. Maybe a touch of grain and a touch of corn. Flavor is very light, with toasted grain and a bit of adjunct sweetness. No hops, no skunk. Watery. Palate is well carbonated and thin, and utterly refreshing. Flavor falls off a cliff leaving no lingering aftertaste. Pretty crisp, maybe a little residual stickiness from the adjuncts. Decent pale lager, easy to drink.

Good all around lager. Goes with food or by itself. Quite full and not at all bitter. Drinkable.

Off yellow body with a white head. Sweet grain aroma. Grainy body, sweet corn comes to mind, sweet ending.

04/10 Here goes my first real French beer, a 0.33 l bottle from an Europaspar in Graz. Pale golden bodied with medium head. Very cheap aroma of some minor hops, typical for a pale lager. Flavor was even less impressive, slightly bitterish, watery, almost tasteless, with lot of carbonation. Almost no finish and what left is not pleasant but so short it doesn’t matter. Can’t believe the main French export beer is so dull.
