acrdz (4493), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jun 5, 2008 Mug at the brewery in Giesfeld. Nose of sweet wort, caramel, maple and grains. Flavor is bright and fresh, tastes like unfermented wort and honey with a little grassy hop note. Fresh, wet, green, etc... at the same time, though, it resembles honey, wet malt and dry wood. Good beer with a nice medium bitterness level. fonefan (5547), Ulfborg, Denmark Apr 14, 2008 Draught @ Brauerei Krug Geisfeld, Strullendorf-Geisfeld, Oberfranken/Bayern, Germany. Clear light to medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, toffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (210308) rauchbier (2877), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Jan 8, 2007 Tap, at the brewpub July 2005. Amber bronze, thin white head and gentle condition. Pleasant sweet toffee and earthy hops in the nose, good mix of caramel and bitter hop in the mouth with some background chalkiness and a dry roasted finish with lingering hop bitterness. pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Sep 4, 2005 On tap at the brewery: Dark amber coloured; thin foamy layer; quite full-bodied brew; malty taste, but not sweet at all; surprisingly bitter flavour and sharp bitter-hoppy finish; typical franconian "Landbier", nice and pleasant combination of a malty body with a distinctive bitter finish......
