Not bad, but not even close to my favorite. It seemed sweet to the taste, very little body, almost watery. Maybe a new category should be made for this one, like: Dark Light Beers. obguthr (1078), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Soy sauce and cherry aroma. Cola colored with absolutely no head. Taste is dry, lightly sour with some wood and nut notes, of very little strength. Pretty enjoyable moss finish with hints of cherry. Similar to an english brown ale. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Bottle. Born on date (yes, it actually is called the born on date!) of 25.04.2007. Pours cola black nearest to Dr. Pepper. Small tan head. Nose is burnt caramel and dark bready notes. Fairly sweet. Taste is a little more toasty. Again burnt caramel, dark bready flavors, some light coffee-ish flavors (as if sweetened, though) and faint molasses. Body is creamy and smooth. Rather light. Mild carbonation. Finishes with more caramel and dark bready malts. Some more coffee hints come through. Not bad! thedm (3837), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2007 This bottled brew from a bottle shop marked 20.06.2006 lot L260C0000 poured a large sized head of foamy fine to medium sized bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent typically carbonated dark red brown colored body. The aroma was malty brown malt and smoky. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of mild hops brown malt and smoky. A decent one that I would consider buying again. Gethinbeer (1019), Nova Scotia, Canada
