A light, but pleasant roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt flavours but quite a light hoppy palate, maybe a little too watery. Over sweet for me. Rictus (126), Camdenton, Missouri, USA

It’s black (duh it’s a shwarzbier) and has an ever-so lightly tanned head. Got a bit of coffee and some lemon. Rather light and alittle sweet. Not exciting but good. Palte is moderate thickness and soft carbonation. good beer Darkover (1314), Columbus, Ohio, USA

The flavour is rich and rewarding and leaves a lingering dark note. This is a well-formed beer that is a premium example of the style, and seems to be suffering a little bit on this site from the tendency to rate beer on its alcohol content alone. cgarvieuk (4201), Edinburgh, Scotland

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 30, 2007 Bottle: Dark brown, nearly black, huge frothy light beige head, fairly sticky lacing.   Nose of black malt, slight funky sweetness, a little bit of basement.   Weak watery semi-sweet lactose like black malt sweetness.   Doesn’t have much in the way of of a body, fairly thin.   Mouthfeel is on the verge of watery.   Clean, but light.   Soft campfire, black malt, and lactose like finish.   Fairly boring, but not at least its not offensive.   Unfortunately, its just very forgettable.

Poured very dark with tan head, nice malty and roasted notes to this beer, this came through in the taste which whilst very nice lacked a little and came across as just a tad thin.
