It is nicely carbonated and malty, but not sweet. This beer is very easy to drink, although not particularly interesting. guzzler67 (1289), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2007 Reddish brown appearance with a large tan head and good lacing. Subdued aroma, sweet malt, ripe fruit, hints of toffee. Initial taste is sweet, followed by coffee along with some fruitiness. Medium bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel with a dry, slightly bitter, lasting finish. Paired this with a Krusty Burger while watching the Simpsons. Crafty07 (393), Florence, Kentucky, USA

The ’born by date’ on the back of the bottle read 01/25/06 and I drank it tonight. Tastes like it’s still good! STEPHENDR (478), California, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Feb 18, 2007 Bottle. Pours ruby brown with a hugely fluffy, lacy tan head. The aroma has toasted bread, caramel and nut notes, with a bit of hop presence behind them. Light body with a somewhat creamy character. Taste of roasted nuts, bread, fruit and brown sugar. A little bit of corny flavor says these guys may be untroubled by reinheitsgebot. Nice dry and very slightly smoky finish. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA

Pours with a deep, ruby body and a never-ending, mocha head (at cellar temp). Malty, roasted aromas with smoky peat and mossy slate/iron. Roasted grain is forefront to the flavor, with mild semi-sweetness to follow and a hint of bitters to end. Glancing below, I like Davecooks’ descriptor of, "a brown sugar note (without the sweetness)". An impressive brew from the Czech Republic.
