Aroma is thin stout-like with notes of roasted malt. Flavour is actually nice too, but the mouthfeel is a bit too mild and thin. Aurelius (2654), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 13, 2006 I really like this beer! On the pour, beer is thick, syrupy, black. Head was dark, and thick, about an inch from the top. Smell is wonderful. Chocolate noise. Taste is refreshing. Hints of roasted coffee, maybe some toffee. Very thick on the palate, slippery almost. Fairly clean finish. I think if this beer had a little bit more complexity, maybe a higher abv, it would go a long way in the beer world, but for me, its a keeper. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 9, 2006 Nice. It pours a deep mahogany body with a modest beige head. The aroma is a smokey molasses with lightly roasted malts. Nicely carbonated. It’s got the flavor of sweet roasted malt, chocolate covered caramel, and a peppery spiciness. Fairly clean finish. I’m surprised at the low ABV, but who cares when it tastes like this.
