Very perfumey, but also volatile nose. After a short time, just some faraway toasted notes, and a bit of garden greenery. Tastes halfway neutral halfway bitter. Rather metallic tang, getting medicinal. No sweetness, but what is in place, is not very enjoyable either. Sharp, nearly astringent, very long, dry aftertaste, and not much body. Bweuh. This is one unpleasant Czech pilsener... jlf278 (255), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

I had little guilt in tossing the majority of this one. How did it win all those gold medals? Superior quality? If only I had known they were really a sneaky dolled up Heineken label. guzzler67 (1283), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Clear gold appearance with an averge size head and a fair amount of lacing. Sweet straw-like aroma with a metallic edge. Mild, herbal hop taste complimented by grainy malts. An unpretentious pils with a slightly bitter, lingering finish. rcweir (121), Massachusetts, USA

Deep golden color, low near-white head quickly fading to a ring of foam. Bready, fairly dry malt aroma. Notes of earthy and light resiny hops. Taste is sourish malty, almost salty. Body is light plus. Oily texture. Sourish end. Goes well down, but does not impress. Wulfstan (509), California, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 13, 2008 This is a nice, different lager with character almost like a good English bitter. It is light amber with a big, off-white head that slowly shrinks to a thin top and leaves a little lace. The aroma is mostly toasty grain with bread, a hint of caramel, flowers, pine, and leaves. The taste is earthy, lightly toasty grain, caramel, leaves, some pine, and a fair amount of citrus. The bitterness is very light at first, but soon increaseas to a very nice balance of malt and hop. It’s wonderful. robertjm (412), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Pours fluffy white head, which reminds me of Budweiser. Color is of a slightly dark Budweiser as well. Microfine bubbles are present. Nearly crystal clear when you hold it up to a light. Nice fresh aroma of a typical European pilsner. Flavor is reminiscent of Pilsner Urquel. Thin body with hops on the palate in the finish. rayOfBeer (319), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 2, 2008 Poured from bottle a blond color with an orange tint. The head was and ever present white frothy foam. Heavy malt aroma with wet straw and a touch of toast smell. The flavor is malty with a grassy bitterness and a powdery graininess giving it a light bread taste. Leaves a lingering bitterness at the end. This beer seems very filling. One beer and I feel a but bloat. Decent flavor but not one I would pickup too often.
