A rich yellow gold body supports a plush white froth. Brawny, sappy malts nearly overwhelm bright grass and black pepper hops. Spicy hop oils coat the tongue, cooled by gentle malts before a lengthy piquant finish. The silken texture and champagnesque carbonation make the body feel weightless.

Powerful malts yield to vast, spicy hops; quenching and satisfying.

50cl bottle, best before 11/08/2008.

50cL bottle, pilsner glass, bottled on 6/27/06. Perfectly clear and lightly copper hued, this one sports a massive and creamy white head. The aroma is instantly full of dank, grassy hops. Further inspection reveals a thin white bread, pils malt profile with an ever so slightly toasted edge. A touch of saltiness makes itself known. The flavor is simple and straightforward, not altering course from the aroma. Gentle sweetness and a light bitterness up front ramping into a dry and lingering grassy finish. The body feels rather light for the abv, but still manages a great velvety, almost creamy, texture. Though there is an abundance of carbonation, it doesn’t feel quite as forcefull as I was hoping, thus decreasing the refreshing qualty of the beer. Freshness is almost assuredly the key with this beer (considering the high ratings mostly hail from continental Europeans)--I’m glad to have gotten my hands on a relatively young bottle. Shame on everyone that didn’t list a bottling date. Original rating of Ar7, Ap4, F7, P4, O15.

Sharp green citrus hop character in the nose promises crisp bitterness with some underlying malt sweetness. Brilliantly clear golden body is topped by a low white head that recedes to a partial cover. Simple lightly sweet and grainy malts are quickly chased by a fairly crisp bitterness. Slight buttery roundness in the aftertaste. Light body with assertive carbonation that opens the tastebuds. Light fruitiness appears in the aftertaste as it warms. Tumbler. Fridge temperature. Bottle (BB 18/02/2007, BCLS on Commercial, Sep-06).

Corn taste, good appearance, no head. Born on date 3/15/2006. Citrus taste that intensified as the beer warmed through 55ş. Medium to Light body, bitter aftertaste. Not my choice with all of the other terrific beers there are to drink.

Bottle. Poured amber color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate hoppy citrus aroma. Medium body. Medium smooth bitter flavor and a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable beer.

(500ml bottle) Purchased at the BC Liquor Store in Oak Bay. Pours a lasting creamy white head that indexes each sampling on the side of the glass,; much like Guinness. Clear golden and lively carbonated body. Nose is mildly corn with slight calcium odor. A very crisp flavour of mild floral hops and toothpaste. I really like this Pils.

On tap at HDG. Light body (and soul). There’s not much to like in this stuff. The aroma is corn, the body is weak and the aftertaste makes you wanna brush your teeth. Another beer that doesn’t hold it’s head well, even with properly washed glassware.

For once I can’t complain about an Eastern European beer. It wasn’t bad because it did not have much flavor. Chlorine and skunk in a mild way. No hops at all unlike the commercial desc. lying bastards.
