Commercial Description:
A special Krušovice lager - The symbol of the Musketeers has been connected to the Krušovice Brewery for many years. Musketeer beer was being produced in first half of the 1980's and the Royal Brewery of Krušovice has formed a link with this tradition by establishing the special Musketeer Lager. This beer is brewed in accordance with a special recipe developed by Krušovice's Master Brewers. This lager beer has a strong golden colour, a pleasant bitter hop taste, a full sweet body and a compact foam. A combination of several types of Bohemian and Moravian malts in a precisely defined ratio, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Woods and hops from the Žatec area.

500 ml can brought back from the Czech Republic in a suitcase...tallboy, honey like with floral notes, very crisp almost tight from the acidity but left a great crisp finish. Not bad for a can beer shipped across the world

500 ml can brought back from the Czech Republic by my friend JP (thanks!), served from the fridge into a Christoffel glass. Pours a deep very clear gold with a huge snowy head that leaves delicate lacing as it slowly recedes.....pretty faint but not unpleasant, reasonably fresh grassy nose with a hint of vanilla and lemon....sweet, with light honey tones and some earthy mineralic qualities, very light dry hops towards the finish, and a somewhat unpleasant acrid quality.....bit of artificial bubblegummy quality as well....rather low carbonation, a bit sticky; not bad but far from top-class.

This pilsener has an unusual thick creamy head of foam. The malt did dominate the hop flavor.

Bottle. Pours dark golden colour with good, lasting head. Nothing really stands out from the aroma. Slightly malty taste, quite average pilsner I’d say. Bitter hoppy aftertaste. Good, but nothing extraordinary. Typical czech pilsner.

Deep golden body. Malty and slightly alcoholic (in a 4,5% beer?) nose. Looks and tastes "darker" than the average pilsner, with hazelnuts and a thick malt texture. Aftertaste is slightly bitter but not too dry and hoppy. You can detect some metallic notes but otherwise I’d say this makes a nice premium lager like the label says.
