Commercial Description:
Loyal followers of choc know of my grandfather Pietro Piegari and his truly American success story. We share today the untold part of my family heritage in our new "Kuehner Weisse", named for my mother’s father who was a german immigrant who traveled through Ellis Island to know success as an innkeeper in Oklahoma. We wanted a beer to honor my mother’s heritage, a real German Hefeweizen, or Weissebier, as the Germans say. Doug Moller, a longitime family friend and brewer was just the person to call for brewing expertise for this special brew. We know from past experience Doug makes a wonderful Weissebier and wanted him to be a part of our attempt to honor the Kuehner family. Here at choc Beer Company we’re big on wheat brews. Choc 1919 is an American wheat. Waving Wheat a Belgium wheat and now this, our true German-style offering. As you enjoy this brew, maybe pause a moment to think on prior generations that traveled hard roads from far away lands to become known as Americans. Many of who would have yearned for something very similar to this beer so far from home. Thanks, Joe

Bottle courtesy of soonah. Pours amber with a white head. Smells of wheat and some bubblegum. Tastes of sweet wheat with some minor tarte hints and a lightly bitter finish.

Poured a hazy golden color with a short white head that only produced spots of lace. The aroma was malt, yeast, citrus and light pepper. The flavor was lots of lemony citrus cut with malt and some almost funky yeast. Slightly sour. The mouthfeel was on thin side but it was very drinkable. I will take this moment to comment that I Choc has now exhausted the wheat beer style and I would love to see some higher gravity offerings from these guys.

650 ml Bottle courtesy of Soonah. pours a cloudy yellow-orange color with a medium white head that soon faded to a fine film. The aroma is fairly unremarkable with wheat, citrus and some nearly funky yeast. The flavor was sweet wheat, rock candy and spices. The finish was short and dry with a lingering sweet and sour effect. The mouthfeel was light and crisp. Overall: The more of this I drank, the more I liked it. A good refreshing summer brew.

Bottle. Nose-ugly, macro. Body-hazy orange. Taste-high CO2, not a lot of flavors, salty, apple. Eh.

Bottle thanks to Soonah, shared with the Dallas crew. Pours with a foamy, off-white head and a hazy orange body. Aroma of brown sugar, bubble gum, orange and acetaldehyde. Taste is wheat, orange and an astringent yeast quality that seems to dominate many Krebs/Choc beers. Light and fizzy.
