Draft... Mostly clear orange/amber ale with a small, wispy, white head. Perfumey nose. Well-balanced, tangy, fruity flavor with hints of grain and hop bitterness. Not at all sweet. Light-bodied and thin with lively carbonation. Crisp, lightly tangy, dry finish.

On tap at ashley’s.Got a fruity aroma.Pours a dark red/copper color with little head.Get some caramel and toffee in the flavors.A little thin with a dry finish.

On tap @ Ashley’s: Dark amber color with a white head. Aroma of caramel, some fruits to it, citrus. Flavor, caramel, light fruits, toffee, and a dry finish. Really refreshing, cut through the big beers of the night quite nicely.

From the brewery tap. One of the most satisfying beers offered at the K Brewery. Nice balance of malt and citrus. Smooth aftertaste. Excellent finish too.

On tap at the brewpub on 4/27/06: Pours a clear orange copper with a nicely-lacing wispy white head. Lightly malty sweet and piney hoppy aroma. Body starts semi-sweet turning more bitter and citric toward the finish.

Draft @ Kuhnhenn: Hazy orange amber color. Orange and tangerine with caramel. Sweet aroma. Malty flavor was kind of dull with a hint of hop bitterness. Semi-dry finish.

at the brewery, from the tap. had this back in Nov. poured amber with small white head that didn’t leave much lacing. aroma mainly citrus and hops, with some caramel and malts. flavor hops, malts, citrus. nice creamy mouthfeel. and a nice bitterness in the finish.

On draught at the brewery, 11/26/2005. Pours an amber-beige colored beer with some light cherry-red hues and a foamy, small white head, moderate retention, receding to a light cover and ring. The aroma has American hops right away, light orange and mostly floral notes, with a soft grassy/herbal undertone. Light toasted grains, plenty of medium-dry caramel and fresh yeast collect in the aroma. Almost a sprucey/woodsy sort of feel to it with the dry grains and floral hops. The flavor is hoppy up front as well, only lightly so, and just more herbal/grassy than floral. Round caramel and light nutty malts through the middle followed by a late bitterness and more floral hops, verging on a touch of citrus. The body is medium, with no thinning or wateriness and low carbonation. Texture is a touch lean, with the very dry malts and not as much sweetness to lend as creamy a texture. Strikingly similar, though to Bells 20th. Bret and Eric had never even heard of Bells 20th so it’s funny they produced a malty amber ale with fair hop flavor and aroma at almost the exact same ABV. Not quite as chewy and succulent as Bells, nor as sweetly malted, but this one has a more pronounced, crisper hop flavor and aroma.
