Draft... Lightly hazy orange ale with a large, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Sweet, fruity aroma. Funky, tart flavor with some good, malty caramel and yeasty fruit. Medium-bodied and dry with moderate carbonation. Dry finish.

The body is dark amber. The aroma is mild cherries and sweet mead. The taste has cherries and some walnuts with a diacetyl finish. This also seemed a little salty.

Tap: Glowing ruby hue with a big creamy off-white head and outstanding lace which clings to the glassware. The aroma has notes of currant, cherry, anise, clover, heather, earthy and fruity yeast esters and a hint of oxidation (a good thing). Semi-sweet taste with ripened fruit and spice overtones. A bit bready and caramel is the background. Some woody notes on the finish and noticeable phenolic character. The feel is lush and sticky with moderate warming. Rocking and I really dig it, would drink it again and again.

They love Forbidden fruit at Kuhnhenn! On draught 3/19/05 at the brewery with plenty of good company. Dark copper-amber colored beer with plenty of off-white head, as flemdawg writes. Good retention, light lacing. The beer, like all of their Belgian creations, is unfiltered and there are plenty of floaties at the bottom of my glass, even coming out of a keg! Aroma has sharp peach and dry toasted grains. Lots of yeast nuances, and not overly sweet. Flavor, I felt, was much better than the aroma suggested. This batch was 7.1% abv and it did show somewhat, but the body, was not highly attenuated and provided a good balance to the drying alcohol. Caramel, yellow fruits and grains, with a dry yeast and light bitterness on the end. Medium body, with just a bit too much alcohol, all told. Still, quite drinkable even at 7.1%

On tap: Very sweet and fruity aroma. Bright reddish-orange with a small off-white head. Flavor is very sweet and fruity with an orange juice flavor in the background. Hops start to sneak thru in the finish, but overall a little too sweet.

Maybe I just missed the point on this one. Clear sparkling amber, thin off white creamy head. The nose was loaded with sweet aromas of sugar coated sour peach and apricot. Flavor was just the same and begged to be called fuzzy fruit desert wine. Light bodied, light carbonation, drying, sweet fruity finish. Not my cup of tea at all, but luckily Kuhnhenn has about 12 other brews I love anyway....

Tap. Deep brown with red highlights and very clear. Deep, dense tan head lasts until the last drop of liquid is gone. Aroma is fruity and sugary with lots of malt undertones. Medium bodied and smooth. A bit overmalted in flavor, lots of residual sugars remain. The yeast strain is interesting and does leave lots of fruit and ester in the flavor profile. Solid and different beer.

Tap: dark amber with white film for head. Aroma was ll sweet malt with hints of peach. Flavor has alot of caramel and residuel belgian candy sugar taste, with a light fruity background. Decent overall, can see how sweetness would get to people though.
