Sweet and fruity, candy-like malty aroma. Hazy tan-orange with a light cover of off-white head. Strong bitter orange and light spiciness to the clean malty body with fair bitterness and mild alcohol in the finish. Definite alcohol warming, medium body and fair carbonation. Tulip glass, just above fridge temp. Sampled from a growler that had been opened some hours earlier and then re-closed, so it may have lost something during that time-frame. With ClarkVV, MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere.

New England Road Trip Easter ’05 with MartinT, tiggmtl and Rastacouere, beer #32. Sampled in our motel room, joined by the locquacious and sagacious ClarkVV. Growler. Coppery-dark, little head..fruity, yeasty nose with hints of coriander...sweet, spicy orangy body, becomes quite sour late...doughy mouthfeel...not at its best, but pleasant enough and certainly leaves me wanting more, fresher samples.

Out of a growler shared by ClarkVV. Amber-orange body wears a white cover. Yeasty and phenolic aroma bears strong orange and bananas reminiscent fruitiness together with a moderately heavy sourdough quality. Leafy, minty and rather hoppy flavour profile brings on a very dry, bready and bitter finish. Soft and creamy texture, medium bodied. Not among their best by any means, but this may have been better straight from the tap.

Herbal honey sweetness meld with the ample peaches and oranges...Hop bitterness and warming alcohol brush the finale, as a medecinal Vicks Vaporub waft makes me do a double-take...A simple, powerful sipper which must be better from the tap...Thanks Clark for sharing this growler!!...

On draught 3/19/05 at the brewery. Dark copper-orange body, with some lighter gold and yellow hues and a moderate amount of off-white head, slowly disipating. Chill haze to the body. Aroma smells like old doughy brown bread, slight hints of pepper, a large dose of caramelized/candied sugar sweetness and light herbal hops. A mild dryness from the alcohol is also perceptible. Flavor is near explosive, compared to the aroma. Opens up with a lovely mix of caramel and pils malt, with sticky residual sugar clinging to the palate. Succulent yeast notes are quickly apparent. Spiciness immediately butts in to keep things balanced and there are light orange zest notes. Alcohol is lightly apparent, but not raw and domineering. Nothing jumps out and screams at me here, which is wonderful, because it is all done well and in good proportion (balance). A bit of plastic on the end detracts somewhat, maybe a bit more orange flavor than I prefer, but it’s still a very well-made, rich, malty treat. Medium-full body, low carbonation.

Lovely peach, amber color with a perfect near white head. Aroma is like a bread factory with sweet sugars (caramel) mixed in, and alcohol hints. Thick and syrupy (for lack of a better word), with a very sweet, fruity flavor, with minimal sourness, which is why I didn’t want to say citrusy.

tap: Pours a hazy amber with frothy white head. Smells doughy and citrusy. Taste is the same, smooth with a bitter after taste.

released march. from my favorite brewery, from the tap. poured a hazey brown with off white head.aroma, malts, yeast, caramel, brown sugar, musty, alcohol, (9.5). the aromas were a nice combination off sweet and sour. flavor, graoes, apples, citrus, malts and a nice bitterness. they did it again another good beer.
