Bottle from ucusty, thanks man. Poured a deep, murky caramel-brown color with a thin off-white head that faded to a ring. Sweet, fruity (apple, pear, raisin) aroma with caramel, brown sugar, a light leather-like earthiness and some alcohol. Sweet, smooth entry with a faintly tart fruitiness with hints of green apple and a nice caramel maltiness with some light brown sugar and a lightly dry, fruity finish (pear and raisin). Low carbonation, smooth and thick on the palate. I really enjoyed it, I must have gotten a good bottle. Thanks again David.

Deep amber pour. Floaters evident. Completely flat. Fruity aroma. Sour sweet flavor. Alcoholic finish. Very big disappointment hopefully I got a bad one surely it not supposed to taste like this...

12oz bottle.... dark garnet coloring with a thin wispy white head..... aroma is extremely berry full of fruit and somewhat cloyingly sweet.... flavors lends itself towards the same. fruity, somewhat sour, and then cloyingly sweet. boozy on the palate. not an easy drinking brew, that is for sure.

OK, It’s on tap now, must be the 2008 version. The aroma was sweet bread, roastiness. The body was a gray/brown, a light brown head, cloudy as all get out, doesn’t look that great but wow what flavor! The flavor is sweet a little bitter and it stays with you, the body is medium and the texture creamy.

This beer puts me on the Most Beers >10% tried list: http://www.ratebeer.com/Users/TopBigBeerRaters.asp with 982 ratings and 19.45% >10%. Woohoo! 22oz bottle from iowaherkeye shared with WeeHeavy and Cyn. Thanks Joey for this rare retired bottle and Jon for inviting me over. Amber color. Lots of nice oxidation in the aroma. Strong alcohol really amplifies the aroma. A little bit of a wet dog smell. Very sweet with a hint of tartness. I think the beer is probably infected, but actually not bad.

12oz Wetherel brought over a ways ago and we drank tonight together. Pours orange brown with no head. Nose is hot with lots of caramel. Taste is better than I expected with the reviews. But its pretty tasty and not as hot as I guessed. Sweet fruity and tasty, not a bad beer by any means.

12oz bottle, via goryshkewych. Pours a dark amber body with a small fizzy quickly fading off-white head. Heavy caramel and toffee maltiness in the nose with a big alcohol background. Hints of dark brown sugar, moist tobacco, and vanilla. Big sweet malt body with slightly acidic citrusy kick, there’s lots of dark brown sugar, plum and sour cherry fruitiness, and heavy alcohol. This is certainly unique. I think that this could benefit from some long term aging to develop some sherry like oxidation complexity. Notes of raisin, tangerine rind, and citrusy hops. Mouthfeel is full and hearty with perfect soft pinpoint carbonation. A good bit of warmth on the finish. Surprisingly drinkable at this ABV, it never gets too sweet or cloying because of the citrusy hops. I think that this is a good bit underrated.
