Bottle courtesy of polomagnifico...THANKS RYAN!!! So, I can see why this one was retired. Zero head with a dark coppery brown body. Aroma is extremely sour and exhibits hints of fig, raisin, and date. Flavor is all tart cherries...can’t find the "strong malt flavor" they describe. Maybe a misprint. Not a favorite but still glad I had a chance to try this rarity!!!

12oz bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis. Poured deeper and cloudy brownish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, raisins, vanilla, other dark and fruitiness. Very nice aroma, looked forward to the tastes and then, wham, tastes of sour and tart cherries with some caramel. The tart/sour cherries domininated.

Poured a murky red brown color with a thin, off white head, no lacing on the glass. Aroma of dried fruits, pine, oxidation, and light floral hops. Taste was quite sour, cherries, raisins, soft caramel malts, and a bit of alcohol. Unfortunate for being so young that this beer could not stand up. I thought the Bourbon version of this was much better.

Thanks to ogglethorp for the trade. Pours a hazy ruby/amber/brown with a small bubbly off white head that went away to nothing. Aroma of dark fruits, toffee, toasted malts, nuts, vanilla, some oak, light cherries and raisins. Flavor of...yeah, it’s sour. Cherries, some vanilla and dark fruits, caramel, but a pretty drastic difference from the aroma.

ruby pour with a thin off white head. Aroma is very malt forward. Flavor is very sweet cherries, caramel, some tannins, raisin. Finishes very sweet. Up front on the palate it feels very syrupy, but finishes rather thin. Very interesting. Thanks to Styles for this guy!

Thanks polomagnifico. 2006 vintage. Pours a dark ruby brownish red. A lot more carbonation than I would have expected. Thin frothy tan head. The aroma was very fruity, sweet, earthy, minor oxidized notes, caramel, brown sugar, alcohol, wine, vinous. The flavor is interesting, actually very sour, caramel, sweet, alcohol, vinous, cherry, lots of muddled flavors. Very sour, acidic, warm, carbonated mouthfeel. Wondering if the sourness and the excess carbonation are the result of a bug.

2006 bottle courtesy of Pailhead. Rating #350! Thanks! Pours chocolate brown with a small disappearing head. Very pungent aroma of toffee, raisins and alcohol. Same in the taste... but VERY sour and totally off balance. ourness like sour cherries and barnyard funk. Bad bottle?
