mattmc1973 (300), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Mar 17, 2009 On tap on St. Patty’s Day 2009. Clear amber with minimal head. Aroma of blueberries, and I detect some raspberry scent, similar to Raspberry Eisbock. Aroma is also very malty. Taste of berries and malt, not much hops. Crisp and light mouthfeel. OK, but doesn’t blow me away. walleye (876), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jun 1, 2007 about time I entered this, I had it on St. Patties day. from the tap poured a amber with off white head. aroma did get hints of blueberry and some malt some sweetness with a bit of sourness peeking through . flavor, I was expecting a little more in the flavor department. I did get did some of the blueberry and malt, with a little citrus I guess this wasn’t to bad for a breakfast beer. Earlier Rating: 4/23/2005 Total Score: 4.3 from my favorite brewery, from the bottle.poured reddish color with a off white head. aroma, those nice sweet blueberries pancakes with maple syrup on them, and more blueberries on top of the pancakes. flavor, just like sitting down to breakfast for blueberry pancakes, hints of brown sugar. this is a little to sweet. but still a very good beer, going to pick up more of this stuff. will be good for a after dinner drink instead of dessert ogglethorp (882), Ohio, USA Mar 20, 2007 On tap for St. Patty’s. Pours a reddish golden color with a thin off white head. Aroma is slightly sour, blueberry, pale malts, tart cherries. Flavor is blueberry, tart cherries, pale malts, acidic. Palate is medium-light, medium carbonation, sour, acidic finish. Not my favorite. tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jun 13, 2005 Blueberry aroma is strong with hefty undertones of pastry dough. Cloudy, murky, tan-brown with a light ring of white head and lots of suspended fruit. Blueberry flavour is strong with lightly tart, acetic sourness. Medium body with strong, prickly carbonation. Sampled at Mondial de la Bière 2005. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jun 7, 2005 Sample at the Mondial, from 12 oz bottle (I think). Tiny swirls of dried berry-bits suspended in a cloudy dark amber body with remnants of a foamy ring...aroma of, umm, blueberry pancakes, or the batter from which they are made...body a bit too acidic, one-note fruity, tasty to my fruit-beer loving palate but without enough malt for most...still, an interesting and worthwhile experiment, and probably better on tap or from bottles not sitting too long in the sun... Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 6, 2005 Dark gold hue, beige bubbly head gives trouble upon pouring. Obvious blueberry and bready yeast in the aroma, very sweet, almost cough syrup like, but not overwhelming. Nicely tart on the palate, it is unable to find a path through the syrupy sweetness and the overall balance is not the best I’ve encountered from Kuhnhenn’s fruit beers. Tart grainy fruit purée, pie-like, desserty and highly yeasty. Foamy palate proposes explosive big bubbles and an overall gazy profile. Pours a slightly cloudy caramel / brown color with a thin white head. Aroma of blueberries with a doughy element, maybe it comes from the yeast. Ordinary flavor of mild blueberries. Light body, dry mouthfeel, soft carbonation.
