This was a pretty good Braggot overall, although I have only had a few of them. I think I liked the atlantic brewing braggot a bit better, although it may have more malt in it than this. The honey comes through and dominates over the malt, so it gives a lot of straight mead qualities. Wine-like, sweet honey, alcohol is apparent, lightly fruity. The use of malt, keeps it from getting too thin or boozy and gives more of an interesting flavor and mouthfeel. Pretty good overall. SuIIy (1493), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 25, 2005 I’m very inexperienced with Meads...well with all beers really too, but especially with meads. Rich golden orange colour with a syrupy appearance. Alcohol aromas overpoewr the more subdued honey notes. Thcik, tongue-coating mouthfeel that istoo sweet for my tastes. Not terrible but not balanced enough to be really good to me. radiomgb (2072), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

Aroma was of honey and alcohol. The alcohol in the flavour was very apparent up front, with a honey sweetness coming through near the back. Very sweet sticky mouthfeel, medium carbonation and body. Finishes with an alcohol burn, fairly dry.
