Honey aromas with some hints of alcohol. Very sweet, IMHO, honey overpowering, stays in the mouth too long. My first mead, pleasant and would try more as to compare. qdog (201), Cleveland, Mississippi, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 22, 2004 The final sample of the evening. Quite different from the Kasztelanski Mead we had earlier in the session. This was crisper and dryer, with quite a tart finish. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2004 Wohlfs brought this expensive bottle to share at a recent party. Light gold in color with a nose of honey. This was the most honey-ish of three meads/braggots of the night. More sweet and flavorful, with more body than the other two. Carmelized richness, with loads of alcohol that seemed to be well hidden for the most part. My favorite American mead so far! joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2004 Syrupy, hazy gold w/ finger of light beige foam. Sweet dark-ish honey aroma w/ gentle malt background. Soft, lightly syrupy feel. Flavour of dark honey & sweet, pale malts. Finish is semi-dry. Sammy (4062), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

My first braggot, it was crisp, carbonated (wohlfs who brought it to Doug Shoemaker explained the carbonation is from the malt) and different. Dry aftertaste. Refreshing and will have again. Surprising the alcohol was so high, ya don’t notice.
