Apr 28, 2009 Bottle from DLD. One of my favorites of the day. Baddass! dark brown pour wtih a beige head. Aroma is thick and sweet. Molasses, maple, brown sugar, caramel and booze. Flavor is so rich. so full. booze, vanilla, prunes, raisins, dates, figs, molasses, maple. Damn I would love a bottle. ANYONE?

Apr 28, 2009 Courtesy someone at GoT’s throwdown, either hopscotch or SoLan. Very, very dark brown color, broken thin tan head. Super rich and sweet aroma, caramel, alcohol, spice, toffee. Fantastic sweet old ale, a ton of caramel and toffee, dark fruits, but not overly sweet, nice warming finish. Excellent.

Apr 28, 2009 Bottled at DLD. Poured deep, murky brown with almost zero head. The aroma picked up lots and lots of bourbon and oxidation above aged caramel, molasses, and soy maltage.. huge and not entirely cohesive. The flavor was similar to the nose with lots of thick malts (caramel, chocolate, and molasses) with bourbon and vanilla all over.. slightly toasty finish with prickly alcohol over the heavy maltage. Very heavily-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. this seemed to ooze across the palate, and it managed to hit all the proper tastebuds.. it took a while to grow on me, but I really enjoyed it.

Apr 4, 2009 It’s like Dave. Slightly oxidized but full of resinous and woody scotch, burnt honey, fresh tobacco and leather. Low carbonation, thick, syrupy, slightly over-sweet, but works well with a dense burnt peach and apricot sweetness throughout. An amazing mood beer.

Apr 3, 2009 A- Pours a very dark brownish black with little to no discernable head.
S- Lots of fig, caramel, dark fruits, and a little bit of alcohol. reminiscent of extraneous ale.
T- Lots of dark fruit up front, figs, plum, deep caramel, with a brown sugar sweetness that runs through the from beginning to end. Perhaps a little sweet for my taste but the alcohol is very hard to detect.
M- Thick with medium to low carbonation.
D- This seems like a great nightcap. It seems to me that it is just a modified extraneous ale recipe that is a little less harsh and more sweet.

Mar 23, 2009 Bottle shared by ucusty. This reminded me a lot of the Tenancious Cassis. Big, over the top, sweet, yet sort of balanced in crazy way. Thicky, almost syrupy palate. A sipper that I wouldn’t want more than a couple ounces of as any one time.

Mar 19, 2009 Thanks to hoppymeal for this one! Viscous dark brown pour with a frothy beige head. Earthy rich and dark fruit on the nose. Full bodied. Caramel, peat, fruit and molasses. A little too cloying for my tastes
