Feb 19, 2009 12 oz bottle: 2008 Bottle: Aroma ihas got a real hop presence with some caramel notes backing. Toffee and sweet candy intermingle with all of the flavors. Appearance is a very dark amber color almost opeque, but somewhat translucent with a medium sized tan head that lingers. Taste is malt and caramel up front, hoppier than I thought it would be with a tinge of citrus within this brew. Palate is rather light very lightly carbonated, soft on the tongue with an aftertaste iof citrus hops and a light backing of caramel malt. Overall, This stuff is good don’t get me wrong, but I think I was expecting a little bit more. Cheers!

Feb 18, 2009 On tap at the Brew Kettle. Pour is dark red with no head. Aroma was fruity with some caramel and booze. Flavor was sweet with dark malt, caramel and ripe fruit. Had alcohol present, but it was not overpowering. Pretty good effort.

Feb 17, 2009 Another great beer on tap at the brew kettle. Pours a medium viscocity with almost no head retention. Starts off sweet and buttery with dried fruit and tobacco. Finishes slightly bitter ( from hops) and dry. Tastes like a 15%er? Overall interesting but nice.

Feb 16, 2009 Pours a muddy brown/black color with minimal tan head. Huge aroma of dates and sweet malts. Nice smooth and very complex taste, includes raisins, dates, caramel, floral hops.

Feb 15, 2009 2008 vintage - Got at 2008 Winter Solistice. Pours dark golden brown, with light brown creamy head, mostly diminishing and excellent lacing. The aroma is sweet, raisin, molasses\caramel. The initial flavor is a little bitter, creamy a little sweet vanilla/brown sugar taste. Lots of flavor going on, full mouth feel, very good.

Hazy dark brown-red with a long-lasting white head. Nose is very odd: sugary malt and slight mint yet an overabundance of an odd wet earth/bark. Not very strong either. Ultra-sweet flavor, sugar and caramel leading while roasted malt outdistances the rest in the finish. Quite an odd one, and while it shows promise at points, it never really comes together.

Feb 5, 2009 Bottle brewed 2-16-05. 4 years old. Pours dark brown with a dark red tint in light. Had no head. Aroma is rich caramel, raisins, tootsie roll, and some dark fruit. Aroma leads into the same flavors. Has a heavy mouthfeel that is silky. This is a damn fine brew.

Jan 30, 2009 Bottle shared with MatSciGuy-pours a deep hazy brown with little carbonation and head - little to no glass stickyness. Sweet malty caramel taste with some dark fruit flavors and little hop bitterness. Warm alcohol on the way down. A nice beer
