| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 16, 2007 Having had their Raspberry Eisbock, my expectations might have been too high but this didn’t impress. It was good, but not impressive. Deep mahogany body with an ephemeral tan head. Malt, chocolate, fruit, waffles in the aroma. Alcohol in the flavor with some sweetness. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Thanks a lot for the bottle, Duane. Batch 3 according to the 2/16/2005 brewed on date. A muddy brown colored body and a light khaki head make this one look a little unappealing. The aroma is very sweet with prunes, caramel and a little bit of fresh cut wood. The taste has some notes of rich prunes and thick caramel. There is also a little bit of milk chocolate, but it is subtle. There is also a little bit of sherry. Wow, this is one massive brew, defintiely made for sipping. Good stuff. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

Caramel and died dark fruit sweet aroma with a light hoppy note. Light roasted malty flavor with notes of overripe fruit and alcohol. Light hoppy finish. GG (1665), NorCal, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 15, 2007 Truly an outstanding drinking experience and to those who can get this beer at their local store I am jealous. This might be one of those "go-to" beers because it is outstanding in every way. An aroma of toffee, rich molasses, and brown sugar. Appearance was a deep brown, almost black body, with a very thin head. Flavor was really sweet, molasses and caramel do their best to hide an earthy character that was there. All that and it still has enough to show a dark fruit character that made it go from damn good to great. Excellent beer. A must have. pantanap (1369), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 4, 2007 Updated: Dec 30, 2007Poured from a 12 oz. Rich copper red hue, glassy and syrupy. Lovely and rich aroma of apple brandy and barbecue smoke. Meaty and full. Honey-brisket and an uninhibited malt flood. Taste takes a predictable, carefully studied line of depth and opulence of character. Maple and the rich berry syrup of port, some caramelized sugar and toffee on the front. Vivid and cheerful shades of nectarines and pineapple enliven the back end. Finishing coating of well-composed and thorough malt sweetness. Full, sweet, and wet in the mouth like a fine scotch or an old harvest ale. Pleasant; erudite. Thanks for sharing, Jeff!
