Pours a deep brown color with a hint of amber and a large beige/white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, nutty and a hint of booze. Taste is big, complex, sweet and interesting. Palate is nice and thick, but a little on the thick/sweet side. Overall, too sweet, too syrupy. yobdoog (1436), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

Beautiful plum colored pour with dull garnet highlights and large, sustainable khaki head. Nose is dark berries, rum, brown sugar, with a wild pineapple note. Flavors are very complex and distinct- maple syrup, floral hops, mild alcohol. I’m sure these flavors will meld together quite nicely over time. Reminds me of a barlywine with brown sugar added. Very prickly full bodied carbonation. Very good brew. ScottyP (314), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2009 Pours a dark brown with creamy beige head. Aroma of pineapple, caramel, bread, other fruit. My description isn’t doing it justice, very pleasant aroma. Very sweet up front, some caramel, sugarcane, coffee, malt, Pleasant finish, doesn’t overwhelm considering the blast of malty sweetness. Excellent beer! Barrios (858), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
