| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2008 MBG Winter Fest 2008, sample from oak barrel. Poured hazy reddish brown with an average fizzy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Heavy raspberry, tart fruity and wood aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium sweet & sour fruity balanced flavor and a medium sweet woody finish of moderate duration. Good young that should be better with some age. BBB63 (4232), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2008 2008 MBG Winter Fest, served from a oak cask: Brown with lots of ruby highlights, minimal head nor lace. The aroma is indeed raspberry along with clean oak, grassy, and just a beginning hint of Brettanomyces. The taste is acidic sourness and fruit with just a dash of pale and caramel malting. The finish is a touch woody and alcoholic. The mouth feel is sprite and a bit dry, warming. A good beer that should only get better once the funk takes hold. Rciesla (3686), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2008 Draft. Pours a ruby brune body with a thin white lacing. Big fruity flavor of raspberries, medicinal cherry and loads of alcohol, maybe vodka-esk. Light oak but just very strong. Dickinsonbeer (3494), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 20, 2008 First sample at NOTB EBF 08. Pours a murky violet tinted brownish gray with prety much no head and a very low carbonation (served from a barrel!). Aroma is intenste raspberry puree but earthy as well with some tartness- not as sweet and enticing as NG Rasp Tart though, and has a wierd phenolic alcohol burn in the end that was off-setting. Flavor is at first sweet rasp then gets a bit tart and finishes astringent with tannin, alcohol burn and paint thinner. Way too boozy and fusely for me- I almost couldnt drink it. I believe they said this was 12+% abv. Pailhead (2594), Allen Park, Michigan, USA

Bottle: The aroma has lots of sweet raspberries with a hint of tartness. It pours a hazy reddish-orange with a large off-white head with great retention. The flavor contains lots of sweet raspberry with minimal tartness. The finish has sort of a faint woody bitterness. alexanderj (2263), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Sampled at the NOTB. The biggest surprise of the night for me. Was not expecting too much. Aroma was wood and rasberry. Solid blend. Flavor was about the same. One of the few beers that stood out for me and golubj. ryan (1778), Beltsville, Maryland, USA
