Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 28, 2005 Very clear dark copper, light beige head. Pleasant enough chocolate nose has a nice floral bite. Mellow oaky roastiness, barky, and light. Slightly citrusy in mouth, well brewed obviously, but not particularly interesting. A bit watery texture, light-medium body. Chocolatey and floral mostly. CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Nov 18, 2007 Growler at the RBSG grand tasting on 6/23/07: Transparent dark copper mahogany with a spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel sugar with a touch of grape candy and toffee. Body starts with a decent thickness and some light caramel sweetness with nice light fruity esters toward a bready, smooth toasty finish with a touch of milk chocolate. A nice porter. hopscotch (4595), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Apr 24, 2005 Draft... This beer rocks!... Pitch black ale (clear crimson when held up to bright light) with a small, creamy, off-white head. Great retention. Nose of light coffee and chocolate with a whiff of buttermilk and caramel. The flavor is all espresso, chocolate, caramel, burnt nuts and tangy hops. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Roasty finish. World class English porter!
