| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2009 Tap at the Blind Tiger. Dark brown with a small head. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Tap at Blind Tiger. Very milky, yeasty dark brown pour. The nose is nice. Loads of sweet cocoa. Lots of yeasty notes in here, which is unsurprising. A fairly heavy charred roastiness on the back along with an intense chocolate maltiness that is still fairly well integrated. Chewy and roasty with a bit of light earthy hoppiness on the back. It’s nice, but it could definitely do without the yeastiness muddling things up. Rciesla (3710), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Draft. Pours a black body with a tan head. Malty chocolate body with some light lactose notes and coco. A chewy nutty chocolate character with some burnt malt and tobacco. Mildly bitter to finish, the roasted malt or the hops. Good brew. Milky, chocolaty aroma with a nutty note. Has a creamy body with a nice dark crystal malt flavor. Some milk sugar notes, lots of toasted notes, mild husk and a cocoa touch. Nicely hopped back with a peppery note. A nice milky porter. beerbill (1962), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2009 On draught at the Blind Tiger. Pours black with a thin off-white head that faded to a ring after a few sips and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of coffee, roasted malt, and to a lesser extent, chocolate. The flavor is coffee, tobacco and roasted malt. Mild-moderate bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. Nice porter. j12601 (1305), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 5, 2009 On tap at the Blind Tiger at their Kuhnhenn event. Pours a murky and milky brown with a thin tan head. Lots of chocolate and caramel, little roast, light coffee. Medium body, lots of roast, some caramel. Finishes with a light bitter finish. My only regret is that we didn’t try a black and tan with the Apricot Panty Dropper and this (though we did make sure that we had the Panty Dropper before we got to the Penetration).
