Nice rich aroma with a candied fruit sweetness and Belgian yeast. Taste rich as well but pretty straightforward. Heavy malt sweetness with some fruit and a yeasty twinge at the end. Strong, with meady smooth characteristic. Ruby red with lots of lace Some sourness making it a sipper. Above averag mouthfeel. mattmc1973 (313), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 6, 2009 Cask-conditioned 3-year Prometheus, at Kuhnhenn’s 10th anniversary party. Aroma of light floral hops, with lots of fruit: grape, plum, and apple. Also had an odd perfumey aroma that I can’t quite place. Smelled really good, though! Taste of yeast, sweet malts, candi sugar. Mouthfeel medium with dry finish. Really great beer! dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2009 Tap at Kuhnhenn. 3 year aged, I think this might deserve a separate area.... anyway, pours a dark brown with thin off-white head, no lacing. Aroma of dried and slightly tart fruits, overripe apple, roasted malt, caramel, and a bit of chocolate. Flavor matched well with an additional sweetness, yeast that I didn’t detect in the aroma, slight bitterness, and some spice. Mouthfeel is slightly slick with a dry slightly sour, slightly bitter finish.
