Deep rose amber hue with a small disappearing beige head that left no lace. Flavor is raspberries, chocolate, spice, and pipe tobacco. Very full bodied and sticky sweet. Just a fantastic experience! From winter solstice quest to savoring the last drop, it has been worth all the effort! Theis (3756), Denmark

The taste was like a luscious, moist chocolate cake intermingled with mellow raspberries and hints of caramel and almond. Truly a dessert beer. Interestingly, the raspberries seemed to be quite mellow, which is what really set this apart from some other fruits I’ve had. They played a secondary, yet no less succulent role. The beer finishes slightly tart with a bitey-wine feel to it. Alcohol warms greatly as it goes down. I enjoyed every sip of this masterpiece. CapFlu (3483), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2007 Updated: Jun 6, 2008Had this for the second time and figured I had better rate it. Smell is of Freshly crushed raspberries. The kind grown in small batches in the back yard. The taste is full and delicous, white chocolate covered raspberries with a milk chocolate drizzle. The bartender put it perfectly. If you could ever afford to simmer this in a pan and reduce it down to a fine syrup. You would have the best vanilla ice cream treat of all time.
Re-rate: had this again the other night. Great stuff. Really good tasting, but the aroma is what does it for me. Let it warm, I haven’t found a better smelling beer. pantanap (1354), Chicago, Illinois, USA

I know the process of making an Eisbock is painstakingly difficult, but the results are proof positive that these guys know how it’s done. An aroma of red vines, chocolate cake, raspberry puree, and a touch soy. Appearance is a dark reddish/brown color, minimal head. Flavor is like a burst of chocolate/raspberry flavor, nice toasted malts and a touch of oxidation. Alcohol is well hidden in this beer and it lets the raspberries and chocolate shine. Incredible beer.
