Clear chocolate colour, very thin tan head. Scent of sweet sugary chocolate and a wee berry accent. Very cordial, if you know what I mean... strong alcohol kick. Godiva in beer form.

Clear brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and a light cherry accent. Flavor of very sweet chocolate and a strong cherry hint. Very much like a chocolate covered cherry.

Thanks to the random RBer who sent me this 2004 vintage, was it you walleye? Very nice dark brown body with a slight reddish tint. Aroma is of chocolate cherry and raspberry with some caramel, almost like a chocolate covered fruit cordial. Amazing taste, chocolate, earthy fruited malts. Sweet and smooth ending.

1200th rating! Bottle. Vintage 2004. I’ve been holding on to a few bottles of this for quite a while now, waiting for a milestone, and they kept passing me by -- well this much anticipated day has finally arrived. Here goes. Pours a murky brown with red hues and no head. Wonderful aroma of caramel malt, raspberries, chocolate, dark fruit, brown sugar, spices and alcohol -- just an amazing aroma. Flavour of fresh, slightly tart raspberries, Belgian chocolate, caramel malt, dark fruit and just the right amount of alcohol -- quite complex and delicious, I’m wishing the bottle wasn’t so small. For 10.6% this is incredibly easy to drink. Nice medium to full body. Well it was definitely worth the wait, it’s up there with the New Glarus Raspberry Tart as one of my favourite Fruit beers and thankfully, I have several more stashed away. Fantastic.

I’ve been hanging on to a few of these bottles for special occasions. Decided to pop one with the recent birth of my new baby daughter. Appears a dark, turbid brown with a ruby hue when held up to the light. The tiny, off white head quickly fizzles out into a collar that also fades out into this special brew. Smell is better than anticipated. Rich, malty, chocolaty fudge with brown sugar, caramel notes, vanilla, and a heavy drizzling of a thick, raspberry reduction infused with cocoa powder. Taste is of the same outstanding aromatics, making this a winner among many winners. Flavors are of a confectioner’s heaven that combines the sugary notes of cocoa, brown sugar, caramel, vanilla, and raspberries that have been flambed with an alcohol blend highlighted with Rum. This is like an after dinner brandy, or cognac. Mouthfeel is rich, smooth, balanced with the sugars, and non-cloyingly delicious. Jesus God...if this is what heaven is, I’ll make a concerted effort to get my ass to church more often. This is heavenly and addictive. Kuhnhenn is set to take over the world 6.3 oz’s at a time! F’in great stuff. Thanks to walleye for supplying this.

Bottle from Styles. Thank you! Pours a deep crimson with almost brown hues when taken out of direct light. This has no head, no lace, but it scores for appearance with the colour colplexity. This aroma kicks ass. Almost too good to be true. Raspberry chocolate covered cheesecake, confectioner’s sugar, caramel, artificial fruit and vodka coolers. Tastes are the same, with bountiful fruit and chocolate, so much so, that I am having a hard time detecting anything else. It’s a nice milk chocolatey, raspberry-ey flavour. FInishes smooth as a baby’s bottom. Length is phenomenal, as flavours linger for over 2 minutes! Served colder than a witch’s tit, and allowed to warm up. Wow, thanks Chris!

Deep, slightly hazed red. The aroma is pound cake with raspberry filling and a bit of vanilla. Fairly tart, which blends nicely with the other flavors. Sweet.
