Bottle at Kuhnhenn Brewing. Oh my! What an aroma. Couldn’t get past it! Wonderful and delicious! Poured a small sized light brown head with fine-small sized bubbles. Opaque body with a black hue. Port and alcohol aroma. The flavor was alcohol and bourbon. Absolutely delicious! An imperial stout to be remembered for sure! The mouthfeel was smooth and the lacing was sparse. This was a full bodied beer. My favorite from Kuhnhenn’s!!

Tap. I only had the sampler, but I had to put in a review for this one. Will adjust if necessary after having a pint. Dark brown, the head was chocolate colored and frothy. Great lacing. The aromas were of coffee, chocolate. Rich mouthfeel not dominated by alcohol as I expected. Great taste. Coffee, malty and a hint of chocolate. Great stuff.

aged 18 months: Dark walnut with maple surroundings. Dwindling ring of burnt caramel bubbles. Intensely vinous nose of chocolate-soaked dried plums, grape skins, and black cherries. Caramel, musty wood, and bittersweet chocolate whispers. Tight carbonation. Slippery on the tongue. Medium-bodied. Vinous-flavored overload is greeted with flowing fudge notes. Soured grape skin acidity neutralizes the richness, leaving behind lesser notes of caramel and black licorice. Stony and grainy in texture with hints of leathery yeast which compound the tingly tartness. Concealed moist soil and cottony roast flavors. Bittersweet chocolate abounds, midway, harmoniously intervening with tart dark fruits, as it becomes increasingly soft on the palate with sneaky bready malts and muted espresso. What little espresso flavor remains, is overshadowed in the finish by the acidic grape skin onslaught. In hindsight, this needs more burnt malt/espresso assertions and less acidity. Very nice, though, as is.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small head of fine to medium sized dark brown colored bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body was opaque black in color with no hope of viewing any carbonation. The aroma was vinuous and full of dark malts. Wow! Very nice aroma. The aroma ... wow... the aroma is simply wonderful. I could not get my nose out of it. Excellent! The palate was tingly and strong. Full of dark malts. The flavor contained notes of strong dark malts with a strong vinuousness to it and a biting malt finish but very good non-the-less. Of all of their beers I have samples, this one is by far the best. The staff is also wonderful. I really enjoyed meeting them I can’t wait to go back again!

Pitch black. Med-brown head. Large aroma – burnt raisins, fruitcake, other esters. Full mouthfeel. Textbook imperial stout profile – burnt fruits, earth, roasted malts. Long, fruity, dry finish.
