Commercial Description:
Kulmbacher Edelherb is pale and dry. Its special taste is thanks to the soft brewing water from pristine, crystal-clear springs of the Fichtelgebirge, the noblest malting barley from regional farmlands, handpicked hops from the Hallertau, and our legendary brewing skills.

(Bottle) Pours yellow with a white head. The aroma light to medium hoppy and malty with tones of toasted white bread, straw, mild grain, herbs and flowers. Some Cabbage in the background. The flavour is light to medium sweet and grassy bitter with a light dry finish. The mouthfeel is quite clean, light soft and light crisp. Medium light bodied.

Tap @ Gasthof, Southern Germany. Clear pale yellow with a off white foam. Lots of fresh hay & grain. Clean, crisp & fresh. Fine pils!

12 oz bottle. Pours thin fizzy light golden with white head. Aroma is light grains and some light grains an dsome hops. Flavor is crisp with hints of hops and barley. Refreshing brew but not something I would buy or search out again.

(330 ml bottle from Tully’s) Pours very pale clear yellow with a fairly tall foamy white head in my pilsener glass. Aroma is initially midly honeyish with some bread. As head recedes nose becomes a little hoppy and slightly sour. Mouthfeel has a decent amount of heft with a kind of honeyish malt smoothness but feels quite filtered. Slightly dry. Lacing is patchy and broken. Flavor is lightly sweetish malt - hints of honey and bread. Lightly bitter with bitterness building a bit toward finish and providing a little hit in the end. Lightly bitterish and sweet malt aftertaste. Overall OK - nothing standout, about on par with alot of other pilseners.

"Pilsener" isn’t my favorite style, but the good ones can still be pretty good. This is a good one. Pale yellow with bubbly carbonation and a more persistent head than I find usual for a pilsener. The foam, which starts out a two finger thickness, lasts at a paper-thin thickness pretty much till the end. Nice lacing. Nose is fairly potent of yeasts and fruity notes. Primary taste is tart and appely, with citrus undertones. Dry, rather hoppy finish. Drinks easy.

Light golden with an OK head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt and hay. The flavour has a nice, dry and slightly citrussy bitterness and a very light malty sweetness. It’s refreshing, quenching and pleasantly dry.
