GG (1612), NorCal, California, USA Nov 28, 2007 A very nice beer. Glad to know that I have several more bottles of the beer waiting for me. The last eisbock I had was a bit overwhelming so I wasn’t too sure what to expect from this one. Everything was in great form. An aroma chocolately raisins/plums, dark brown sugar, and black cherry ice cream. The taste is equally as sublime as the aroma with strong notes of molasses, vanilla, chocolate, cookie dough and dark fruits. Extremely easy to drink, which is dangerous at over 9% alcohol. Very nice beer. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 16, 2007 33 cl. Deep mahogany with a huge and enduring creamy cap. Chocolate, raisins and molasses with a whiff of alcohol in the delicious nose. Flavor has all the same characteristics, plus some woody notes, toffee, corn and a slight dry-earth spiciness. Smooth medium-heavy body has some slight tingle on the end. emerica56 (575), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Nov 6, 2007 This beer pours a clear opaque brown and amber color. There is no head nor is there any laceing to it at all. It has a very sweet smell of maple sugar. As you drink it there is a ncie tangy bitterness initially, but as it warms up you start to get some hints of cherry and some nice sweet yet mildly bitter flavors that coat the sides of your mouth and last for a while. It is very thick and smooth as it slids down your throat. Drink4Satan (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Nov 6, 2007 Pours a transluscent ruby hued brown with a minimal tan head that fades to a ring. Initial aroma of dark, vinous fruits transitions to a malty compex of brown sugar, caramel, toasted grain and bread and strawberry or blackbery jam. Flavours of dark fruit, oak, raisins, toasted bread and caramel are supoorted by a full, chewy, extremely drying palate. The finish and aftertaste is long with pronounced roasted malts suggesting cocoa and coffee. Dough77 (771), Aurora, Illinois, USA Nov 6, 2007 Delicous. Aroma was a bit off like old dark fruits. But from its look and small off white flat head to the smooth and tasty flavors its all in all a fantastic brew. Thick bready plum sugar and roasted malt. eboats (887), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Oct 26, 2007 Bottled. Poured dark brown with a creamy light brown head. Aroma was a big rich and earthy withe chocolate and caramel notes. I could almost taste chewiness in the aroma. Flavor is syrupy, thick, chewy, almost taffy like in texture. Caramel, toasted bread, and light chocolate. Again, an amazingly chewy body. NachlamSie (1630), Tennessee, USA Oct 24, 2007 Bottle. Pours a very deep ruby with a small head. The aroma is rich of overripe fruits, oak, brown sugar, and more malty, dense smells. Mouthfeel is slick and semi viscous. I get a bit of soy sauce buried in the finish with dark plums and raisins up front. Brown sugar, wood, and rye flavors are noted as well. This is a pretty darn tasteful eisbock without any danger of oversweetnes. Suttree (2701), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 22, 2007 Dark reddish brown, almost blac, big foamy head. Mild aroma, figs, cherry and a hint of chocolate and smoke. Flavor is Pumpernickel bread and blackberry, also mildly smoky. There are some hints of chocolate and coffee, too. Surprisingly tasty.
