| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 8, 2004 Bottle. This beer formed a large sized tan head with fine-small sized bubbles that quickly dissipated. The body was reddish-brown and somewhat opaque with no carbonation observed. The nose was malty, caramel and sweet with some alcohol notes. The flavor was sweet, malty, caramel and some alcohol. The mouthfeel was smooth and this beer had sparse lacing. A good Eisbock and one that I recommend. TheBeerGod (3175), Newport News, Virginia, USA

Nose is rich and full of chocolate, caramel and malt. The taste reminds me of a chocolaty dessert. Very rich and malty. The chocolate comes through first and foremost along with the malt and a cake-like taste. Some notes of alcohol and vanilla along with molasses round it out. Exquisite. This is awesome! So glad I finally had this. This does, indeed, live up to the hype. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2004 Dark ruby red edging into black pour with a thin, tight off-white head, decent lacing. Aroma reminds me of kid’s cereal - the sweet fruity kind - like Fruit Loops or Fruity Pebbles. Same fruitiness carries over to the flavor. Hints of cherries, yeast and alcohol. A bit of chocolate also makes its way in the back end as well. Mouthfeel is slightly harsh as the alcohol makes its presence known. Might make a good winter warmer. hughie (3086), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Taste has liquorice and dark fruits, plenty of alcohol and a little bitterness. I would like to say I enjoyed my first eisbock, but I can’t. WeeHeavySD (3042), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 28, 2007 Dark brown colored with red hints. Little light brown head. Rich nutty and chocolaty aroma, mild alcohol and this caramelly sweetness here. As served ice-cold,this already has excellently rich aroma. Medium to full bodied. Flavor starts also with this rich mix of chocolate-nuts-toffee-caramel, this is one fine flavor! Crispy palate. Ending is still sweet with this vanishing alcohol and nuts. Slight bitter hops in aftertaste, very complex beer. Rather strong start for hot day in Bamberg. daknole (3031), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

Pours a black color with a fluffy mostly white head that disappeared pretty quickly. forget the hops here, this is all syrup, malt, dried fruit, raisins, molasses. And that goes for the aroma and flavor. Sweet and smooth. What a sipper. Better as is warmed...man oh man I want more...more I say!!
