Lots of cocoa and molasses in the flavor, as well as in the aroma. Very well balanced hops and malts. Alcohol is very well-masked. zathrus13 (1308), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 16, 2007 12 oz bottle from WLV Chicago. Dark brown almost black with creamy, small, tan head. Dough, plum and slight lager yeast aroma. Flavor is dark fruit, alc, caramel malt, sweet almost cloying, pretty nice though. Medium to full body, creamy. A pretty nice eisbock but not as good as Schloss Eggenberg’s version of the style. henrikb (1303), Aarhus, Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 26, 2006 Deep classic Bock nose(to me this means: a little sharp, cold, metallic tones like the smell of cheap white sugar). But this beer has an incredible deep nose of warmth as well: dried fruits, most distinctly figs, but also raisins, plums and prunes. Brown sugar and the warmth of alcohol is also very apparent; The body is medium full and very, very well balanced, with all elements apparent (sweet, sour, bitter, salty); The finish is long and complex with lots of malt, sweetness and a little bitterness. Great beer, but Bocks are very special! Beerman6686 (1292), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2009 This poured a dark red/briown color with an off white head. Aroma was lots of dark fruits, some maltiness and alcohol as well. Flavor was dark fruits, some caramel, malty, a bit roasted and some alcohol warmth as well. guzzler67 (1285), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 16, 2004 On tap from a fresh keg. Dark brown appearance with a bit of burgundy peeking through. Aroma of caramel, toffee and brown sugar blending with the fruit. Intense, dark fruit(figs, raisins) taste compliments the rich, full-bodied flavor. Lush, well-rounded finish. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 8, 2003 BBD 12/31/03 9.2% abv. The deepest of rubies. Nice sweet malt nose, clearly tells you bock is afoot. Big sweet malt attack, but wins the battle with cloying. Well-done. Luxurious sweet maltiness rich and satisfying. Nice underlying bitterness. Finish has alcohol and some spiciness. How do they do this? Eku 28 is a mess, but this is fricking brilliant?
