Flavor is really sweet at first, then settles down were you have a more complex flavor of lightly toasted malt with a decent amount of alcohol. Very smooth texture and nice clean finish. The color is black with hints of ruby red. The head is tan. The flavor starts off with a caramel sweetness and roastedness. The finish has a slight hint of dark fruit. On the palate there is a slight build up as the flavor lingers and slowly vanishes. doubleo (1104), San Diego, California, USA

Awesome! Many thanks to brewandbbq for this ancient treat! Pours dark brown with a very little, fizzy head. Smells sweet and malty, only a very tiny hint of oxidation. Tastes awesome. Dark and malty and caramelly sweet, somewhat roasty. Thick body, even with the lack of a significant head the carbonation is surprisingly good. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
