Jul 28, 2007 Updated: Jul 15, 2009Pours a deep brown amber hue with a frothy off-white head that dies quickly. Aromas of caramel, oats, molasses, raisins and prunes. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a quick fading finish. Flavors of prunes/dark fruits, a hint of cola, caramel, and some brown sugar. The alcohol is actually subued by the rich flavors.

Jul 20, 2005 Pours a dark brown with a small head. Flavor is malty with a slight sweetness to it. Aroma is malty and slightly sweet. Pretty good.

Nov 20, 2009 Pretty solid representation of the style. Clear, dark mahogany color with a 1/4 inch caramel head that left a bit of lacing. Aroma isn’t as aggressive as one might expect for the weight...lots of sugary malt, toffee, coffee, and cocoa. Flavor possesses some nuttiness accompanied by honey, vanilla, and caramel. Medium mouthfeel. Good beer.

Dec 15, 2005 Excited to try this one....pours out a deep dark brown with a small fading head. Aroma is of chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is very smooth for a high gravity beer. Wonderful taste of chocolate, figs and roasted malts, maybe with a bit of prunes and brown sugar. Slight hop finish, but a wonderful mouthfeel with a very nice taste that warms you up on a cold winter’s night

Dec 5, 2009 2009 Bottle - Pours clear and beautiful reddish amber with a small off white head..aroma is dk fruit and sweet toffee malt...flavour is similar, caramel, apple and dry grain...rich malt, but not too much going on besides that taste-wise....

Jul 4, 2004 Wow, this stuff is great. Dark in colour with a medium medium lasting tan head. The nose is sweet almost very sweet, the taste too is sweet and the aftertaste lingers with maltyness and sweetness that is creamy. Pretty good, check it out if you can.

Aug 11, 2003 This could pass fir a pepsi at a glance. Aroma is fortunately much different. Strong barley notes, some anise and some sweetness. Flavor is a little watery at first, but then has more of a alcohol and hoppy bite to it.

Jan 31, 2009 Bottle.Pours a beautiful reddish brown with small head. Rich aroma of sweet malt, caramel, toffee and dark fruit. Flavour has sweet malt, toffee and dark fruits. Warm and smooth finish with a light bitterness. I really enjoyed this.
