Nose is terrific; sweet doughy malt, rum, and dark fruits. Taste is great as well, very strong malt presence, with a good warmth. The Alcohol is very well hidden. Mouthfeel is medium heavy and creamy. Great beer. Skyview (4060), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 9, 2007 Oh yeah! My first Eisbock. Straight from a bottle pours a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is sweet with hints of caramel, black cherry, brown sugar. Taste is very fruity and chocolate. Finish is a smooth creamy with nutty after taste. Very decent! RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 27, 2007 Got three bottles of this as part of a beer of the month club about two years ago. Drank one, and didn’t care for it...so I stored the other two. What a difference it made letting this sit in the cellar for a while. The pour was dark amber with a big head with large bubbles. The head was deep and very sticky. I smelled chocolate, malt and raisins. The taste was very warm and smooth, with carmel and some roastiness. Very nice Eisbock. yankeefan21 (82), USA

This pours a hearty brown with an acceptable off white head and a nice cereal aroma. My initial impression from the pour was a fear that it might be too carbonated. It had a nice malty taste with trace hints of caramel. The finish was warm and smooth and left me wanting another sip! These are the kinds of beers I was hoping to discover and I will certainly be trying this again. ucusty (1900), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

I thought this was just outstanding-- the flavor was great out of a bottle. Like the bigger brother of the dopplebock-- it had all that malty flavor with a little more alcohol bite hiding behind it. I would buy this again if I see it on the shelf. This beer also inspired me to attempt to make an eisbock next winter. This beer was just outstanding. nuplastikk (1206), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

All the richness of a great Imperial Stout, along with a rich bocky taste. Deep black-brown color, with minimal head. A great sipper, with a warming smooth chocolate aftertaste. Exceptional beer.
