Poured Dark w/ ruby highlights throughout, off-white fast dissapating head. Aroma complex. Hints of malts, fruit (cherries, I think) bread, and slight alcohol aroma. Big malty flavor, big bready flavor, slight fruity (cherry, and maybe raisins, molasses?) flavor in the middle and slight alcohol warming in the aftertaste. Didn’t even realize it was a 9.2% abv beer. Carbonation good, mouthfeel medium. This is my first Eisbock and I enjoyed it very much. Too bad this is hard to find in my area. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 25, 2006 From a slender 11.2 oz. narrow neck brown bottle with a coded bottled/freshness date on bottom right side of the reflective silver dotted front label. Made a very good appearance, poured a rudy hued garnet with a large foamy pale tan head that settled into a thin, foamy lacing, moderate carbonation. Had a nice sweet malty aroma with dark ripe fruitiness, raisins and figs, with whiffs of sweet alcohol. A creamy, smooth medium bodied mouth feel, good drinkability. A sweet dark fruity malty taste with a little breadiness, a warm alcohol presence in the palate, a light hoppiness and a sweet malty finish with a little alcohol warmth lingering on the tongue.

Aroma of ripe fruit, lots of malt, and some alcohol. Flavour is very malty, and loaded with ripe fruit, mostly figs, and plums, with an abundance of caramel flavour. Wow, very nice stuff, smooth, and not over powering. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA

Nose is sweet with dark fruits, malts, and brown sugar. The taste is initially sweet with dark fruits and evolves into a malty, molasses, dark fruits blend. A very nice balance of flavors that is not overly sweet. Very good. skoisirius (574), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours a dark, dark brown that is just barely see through the tiniest bit. A tiny tanned head forms and dissolves quickly. The aroma has very big nutty, toasty, and roasty nose. Hints of coffee are mixed in between. The flavor has a huge hazlenutty roasted start which moves into a dark fruit, chocolatey, and very smooth alcohol finish. The roasted alcohol lingers on the palate for quite a bit after the sip. You can taste the alcohol, but it’s not overpowering at all. A very balanced and solid Eisbock!! POD (198), USA

Stong malt aroma with a distinct fig or date smell. The intensified alchohol content was very noticable and appreciated on my palate. Flavor-wise, I was greeted by a combination of alcohol burn and strong carbonation that was followed by a raiseny aftertaste. I appreciated every single drop. Highly recommended!
