Viva Kulmbacher.

Bottle, bought in a Grenz-shop in Germany. Pours a clear golden yellow with a thin whiteish head. Aroma is brimming with hay-like maltyness as well as a little hoppyness. High carbonation and quite spritzy. Flavour is sweet at first, then turns slightly tarty before a little bitterness appears. Well balanced and a good, refreshing brew.

Bottle. Thin off-white head over a clear golden body. Mild, sweetish malt aroma with touch of floral hops. Taste is clean, soft and mellow: pale malts with a reasonable hopbitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice delicate and lingering hops in the finish. Very well balanced and easy to drink. Less is more!

500ml bottle: poured a deep golden yellow with a medium sized white head which quickly dissipated. Aroma is of light malts and some apple. Some herbal hops. Flavor is mostly herbal hops and a little apple. Well-carbonated. Smooth lightly bitter finish. Good beer.

Small white creamy head over copper body with carbonation. Rubbery aroma. (What’s this? Kulmbacher used to a good brewery!) Taste is smooth, rubbery caramel with a hoppy background. Drinkable, but no more. Really confused about the rubber. Should try another one. (0.5l bottle.)

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, fully golden with an off-white head. Clean malt aroma. Medium body with malty accents and a dry and lightly hoppy finish. Very clean. 160906

Bottled. An old gold coloured beer with a nice white centimetre thick head. The aroma is malty and grainy and has a touch of sweetness. The taste is extremely smooth. A nice bite of late hop counteracts the early malty sweetness. Very, very easy to drink and well brewed.
