Commercial Description:
The naturally-cloudy Mönchshof Kellar beer is the result of Mönchshof's centuries-long brewing tradition and of the love of traditional beer brewing. This amber color, mild beer appeals to lovers of unfiltered beer, the way it used to be. A tradional Mönchshof beer specialty.

500ml swingtop bought in Iowa or Wisconsin or somewhere else in the middle. Pours amber copper colored, with a slight chill haze that seems to darken the color, and a tan head almost has shades of grey. Nose is toasted corn, dried hop leaves and a faint bit of cinnamon and apple. Sweet, festive marzen-like flavor up front, some dried corn, some tortillas, some dried grass, and then more of an orange, lemon and sweet honey note, finishing with a malt and butterscotch sweetness, with a bit of a pasty texture left on the tongue. Not as good as I had hoped, but still a respectable kellerbier.

Pours copper with a white head. Smells of earth, caramel, some tea. Tastes spicy with some sweet malty character. Lots of earthiness reveals itself as this warms.

bottle at O’Donnell’s in Ft Wayne - Pours hazy light amber with an ample, lingering head. Biscuit malts and mild hops duel in the aroma. The flavor has those same malts with light, tasty hops and some yeast. Overall I thought it was a very average beer.

500 ml swingtop pours a cloudy amber body with a generous offwhite head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, and spicy and floral hops. Smooth medium body is well carbonated. Taste is toasty and earthy with a solid hop bitterness that is spicy and herbal. A vague fruitiness lurks underneath. Very enjoyable.

0.5 l bottle. Hazy yellow brown color with small head. Honeyish, biscuity and nutty aroma with hints of licorice. Sweetish malty and biscuity flavor. Biscuity and bittersweet finish.
