Commercial Description:
The naturally-cloudy Mönchshof Kellar beer is the result of Mönchshof's centuries-long brewing tradition and of the love of traditional beer brewing. This amber color, mild beer appeals to lovers of unfiltered beer, the way it used to be. A tradional Mönchshof beer specialty.

Hazy orange-golden with a nice head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt and a little hops. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of caramel and malt. It’s nicely balanced and it has a light citrussy bitterness. Delicious and harmonic. 2349

I don’t like this beer, taste really like having stood some years in the cellar.

(50 cl bottle purchased in a small store in Friedrichsdorf, Germany) Slight shady copper color, big frothy white lasting head. A bit acidic malty and grainy scent, also sweet. Malty and acidic taste, herbal and bitter. Medium high bitterness. Medium body. Rather nice, wouldn’t mind having this one again.

This Kellerbier pours a light amber color from a 50cl flip top bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is rye toast and caramel. A medium to light bodied Kellerbier. The malts are caramel and sweet, lots of rye bread. The hops are spicy, herbal and grassy. Nice toast flavors. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Light and refreshing. Crisp and clean. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

500 ml. Hazy copper with a medium-sized lasting head. Spicy hay, rye, and sweet corn nose. Well-balanced flavor seems at first to be nutty malt and sweet corn, but then is vanquished by herby-woody hops and dry-rye and yeast flavors. The battle continues back and forth throughout each swig and the entire glass. Even the malty aftertaste is balanced well by the drying finish of the hops. Palate is creamy smooth and light-medium, with a light dry-bitter finish.

Pours a five finger creamy head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is slightly hoppy. Mostly a yeasty hoppy flavor but strangely there is also some sweet caramel. $3.45 for a 500 ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Bottle. Poured clear amber color unitl sediment stirred intentionally (this beer flew back form Germany and sat in fridge for 6 months). Average sized head. A toffee-like aroma with hints of yeast and grain. Flavor is malty well balnced, simliar to a bitter or not so malty marzen. Decent.
