| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 16, 2007 The aroma has brown sugar, root beer, toasted malt, and caramel. The appearance is light brown amber with a small one finger head. The flavor is not as sweet as I was expecting or for that matter as it should be but it has some toffee. It has both a sour and a bitter taste and comes off sort of blah and soapy. The palate is thin without much of an aftertaste just a little dark malt. Overall this beer is drinkable but I am not that impressed. vyvvy (2044), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2007 Pours hazy copper with a fizzy beige head. The aroma has toffee, butterscotch, butter and toasty malt with no noticeable hops. Medium body that is fairly creamy then some semi-sharp carbonation comes in - fairly slick. Flavor starts with hazelnut, butterscotch and caramel, fairly sweet. Thankfully there is not as much butter on the taste. The finish has much of the same wtih some spice and some lingering astringency that comes of a bit like black tea. Decent beer, but for the price there are much better out there. | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 9, 2007 Deep slightly hazy full gold. Beige head dissipates to a thin cap that leaves lovely lace.
Rich, pure lovely malty goodness on the nose. There is a warmth to the malt that I’ve rarely encountered. Absolutely captivating.
Medium full in the mouth. Again, intense, pure malt flavors dominate. There’s some mineral supporting, and some bitterness keeping it in check, but this is all about the malt. Such a gorgeous balancing act.
Very low carbonation gives a velvety impression as the malt seeps into every corner of your mouth. I could drink this beer forever. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 31, 2007 500ml swing top. Unfiltered honey bronze hue with a slight ring of off-white head. Crisp bready lager nose. But with a citrus melon aroma. Medium bodied and smooth. Delicious fruity palate. Great flavor! Medium effervescence. Crisp smooth with a pear and citrus note. Subtle hefe yeast notes sans the banana. Nuances of both pale ale and pilsner. These three types of beer grouped into one, this is a great category. Fits everyone. Rides the line between the two fermenting families as far as flavor profile. I need to find more within these parameters. Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 9, 2007 Bottled. Clear, golden with an off-white head. Malty nose, not much else. The flavor is malty as well, with some roasted notes. Medium body and a malty finish with some fruity hops. Boring. (061222)
